Awesome Coworking Spaces in Cebu for Digital Nomads

As more and more people seek freelancing opportunities or put up their own start-up companies, there has also been more coworking workspaces popping up all around Cebu City. According to the Philippine Star,  real estate services organization Colliers projects that demand for co-working spaces in Manila will increase in the next three years. Colliers also cited Cebu as an attractive second-tier city for co-working facilities. Indeed, the prevalence of these shared spaces is an emerging trend in real estate in the Philippines which is not going away anytime soon.

Instead of working at home or at coffee shops, remote or location-independent workers can turn to these workspaces to get their tasks done. Below are some co-working spaces one can consider going to in Cebu City.

1. A Space Cebu

A Space was established in 2012 in Makati before its proprietors opened up a branch in Cebu in 2015. It is a place where creatives, techies, and business people can join art exhibits, music festivals, roadshows, networking events, and the like.

A Space has different space options depending on your needs. Their Guestie pass allows one to drop in and work up to 20 days. For meetings, their signature Franco + De Bono rooms can host a team of six to 10 people while for events, their screening room can accommodate 30 to 60 people.

2. The Company

The Company is a co-working space put up by Japanese firm ZERO-TEN Japan. In 2017, they opened their first international branch in Mandaue which they quickly followed up with a branch in IT Park in 2018. Today, The Company has offices in Hawaii, Thailand, and Singapore.

The Company offers day passes and consumable passes which cover five to 21 days of using their facilities. These packages come with free-flowing coffee, free parking, and access to the internet, phone, and printers. Guests can also choose to have a dedicated desk for a monthly fee or rent an office space for two to 17 persons.

With their brand philosophy of #WorkingwithYou, Workplace Cafe aims to give a great coffee shop experience to customers minus the hassle of working in one: uncomfortable seats, not enough power outlets, and slow internet connection.

Not only do they have the usual amenities coworking spaces have, they also have cubicle stations for people who want to work alone, as well as napping stations for people staying there for the whole day or night. Members who pay monthly rates also get locker storage. For frequent customers, they offer a productivity card which allows the card holder to earn points and get discounts at select partner establishments.

Literally meaning “the good office,” in Japanese, iiOffice Cebu is owned and operated by media company Life Is Good Philippines Inc.

iiOffice boasts of fast internet connection with an average speed of 100 mbps. What makes this coworking space unique are the workstation options customers can choose from. In their 230-square meter space, they have standing desks, window desks, a circular table, and long table to accommodate a wide variety of working styles and preferences. They also have a kitchen equipped with bar counters and refrigerators.

5. OpenMind Co-Working Space

Digital nomads who want to work in a beautifully designed space round the clock can look no further than OpenMind Co-Working Space. Aside from opening at the usual office hours, they have a nighttime membership with locker space which allows customers to work there from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. They also have a designated desk and private room which can be rented on a monthly basis. On the other hand, their recently opened their Banilad branch which features private offices, Skype rooms, and conference rooms in addition to a shared working space.
